I found/though of this recipe, just because I was tired of all the other recipes I’ve made in the past, for smoked sausage. And I was pleasantly surprised!!!
You will need;
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 (16 ounce) package frozen corn kernels
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG, or Accent flavor enhancer)
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
First, cut the smoke sausage into pieces. I like to cut them at an angle so they look pretty and crisp up more.
Cook in a large, deep skillet over medium high heat with just a little oil, set aside (covered) when they are the color you like.
Next, melt the butter in same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the Onion and Green Pepper’s until fork tinder with just a little salt to make the veggies sweat.
Add in the corn and seasonings, reduce heat to medium, cover and cook until the corn is tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
Add back the sausage and heat through.
I would serve it with some tomato rice.. Because it paired amazingly! Just cook rice, add in some butter, and a can of drained fire roasted garlic tomato’s, heat through. Add salt and pepper to taste.
The next day, I ate the rest for lunch, and actually mixed the rice and sausage mix together.. Next time I think I am just going to make it into a casserole! So yum!
